Girideepam Business School (GBS), Kottayam, successfully organized the Girideepam Entrepreneurial Summit and Award 2026 on 18 February 2026 at the Girideepam campus, bringing together academicians, industry experts, budding entrepreneurs, and management students for a day of inspiration, innovation, and entrepreneurial excellence.
The programme commenced with a silent prayer, followed by the Welcome Address delivered by Dr. Subin Thomas, Dean – Academics, GBS. The Presidential Address was delivered by Rev. Fr. Robin Eettithadathil, Director, GBS, who highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship in nation-building and encouraged students to transform ideas into impactful ventures. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries marked the formal inauguration of the summit.
The summit featured two distinguished keynote speakers. Sabu Thomas, Former Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University and Director, International and Inter-University Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, delivered an insightful address on innovation, research, and the entrepreneurial ecosystem in higher education.
The second keynote was delivered by Shajan Varghese, Author, Business Consultant, and Founder & Principal Consultant, Ganisthom Consulting. His session provided practical insights into business planning, startup challenges, and strategic growth, inspiring students to pursue entrepreneurial ventures with clarity and confidence.
A major highlight of the event was the Business Plan Competition, which showcased innovative ideas and strategic business models presented by participating teams. Students from Saintgits College of Applied Sciences emerged as the First and Second Prize winners, demonstrating exceptional creativity, feasibility, and presentation skills. Their achievement added pride and prestige to the competition segment of the summit.
The Girideepam Entrepreneurial Summit and Award 2026 once again reaffirmed GBS’s commitment to nurturing entrepreneurial talent and fostering industry–academia collaboration. The event concluded on a high note, leaving participants motivated to explore and pursue entrepreneurial pathways.
