Girideepam Business School in Association with North West University, South Africa organized International conference on the topic “Sustainable Entrepreneurship in India” on 28 September 2022. The international conference was a platform to discuss the creation and exploration of sustainable entrepreneurial opportunities in India. Dr. Ankit Katrodia, Senior Lecturer, Department of Economics and Management Sciences, North West University, South Africa and Dr.Titto Varghese, Assistant Professor, PG Department of Commerce, St. Xavier’s College, Vaikom were the Key note speakers.
Dr. Ankith shared his views on entrepreneurship education and its influence on higher education students in South Africa. The interactive session with Dr. Ankit helped the participants to acquaint the entrepreneurial scenario in South Africa. Ankit concluded that Founding a start-up and making it successful requires an effort that goes beyond one’s intimate desire to become an entrepreneur but it requires skill and tenacity to merge a team, a product and a market in a single corporate body.
Dr. Titto during his key note address pointed out that the central and state Governments are providing various support schemes to support the start ups. Titto also pointed out that the risk bearing capacity of an investor coupled with wise selection of investment decision determines the success of an entrepreneur.
The participants expressed their views regarding environmental and societal impact of Sustainable Entrepreneurship and shared their experiences and research findings on sustainable practices. Academicians, Scholars, Students and Entrepreneurs from various institutions across the nation attended the conference. Twelve research articles were presented during the session. The research article of Ms. Nandhita Dev “Introducing a Sustainability Control System for Triple Bottom Line performance: A Comprehensive Framework for Effective Green HRM Adoption” was selected as the best paper. During the concluding session certificates were distributed to all the participants and a cash prize worth Rs. 5000 was awarded to Ms. Nandhita for the best paper. The selected papers of the conference were published in the annual international research journal of GBS “Lux Montis”, Vol. 10 November issue.
